EMERGENCY HELP

During the months of December and January, the Emergency Road Help part of the GSBM slows down enough for us to get some of the printing finished for the upcoming PTS and MTS. The Marvin Cook family are Missionaries to North and South Dakota with Prayer Baptist Missions. Brother Cook wrote:

I just wanted to write and thank you once again for helping us with the van while we were in Mobile, Alabama. The radiator needed reapirs. It was such a blessing to have someone help us in our time of need and to help us get the repairs taken care of quickly and get us back on the road. I thank God for your ministry and pray for it frequently. May God continue to bless you richly for your work in Christ.

PASTOR'S TRAINING SCHOOLS

Texas ----- Georgia ----- Ohio
Feb 21 - 25 ----- June 6 - 10 ----- Sep 19 - 23

Three Pastor's Training Schools will be offered this year - one in the West, one in the South, and one in the North. The dress is business casual. Pastors relax in a comfortable classroom as they listen and then interact in discussions under one of the main topics of Full Holy Spirit Control, Leadership, Organization, and World Evangelism. Problems that are dealt with by pastors on a regular basis will be discussed. God has greatly blessed in the training schools offered by GSBM from 2002 through 2004.

You can look at detailed information on PTS and all phases of GSBM at gsbmministries.org (in addition to downloading applications) or call (256) 329-3436, write or e-mail deaster@bellsouth.net for further information. Please mark your calendar and plan to attend one of the meetings.

The Texas school will be hosted by Pastor Roger Hoots in New Caney at East River Baptist Church. He and the church family at New Caney have been hard at work preparing for the meeting in February. You still have time to get your application in for this wonderful, spiritually uplifting time.

PRAISE THE LORD!
Praise the Lord for the privilege of working for our Lord with Good Shepherd Baptist Mission. The National Conference was a great blessing as we fellowshipped with and heard messages from some of God's choice servants. God has allowed us to be a blessing to ministries over this country and abroad. He has given us faithful supporters who pray for us daily. "Blessed by the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation." Ps 68:19

PRAY FOR THE GSBM
Please pray: (1) for wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to carry on all phases of the GSBM; (2) for God's hand in providing financial support for the upcoming Missionary Training School and Pastor's Training Schools; (3) for the Holy Spirit to oversee and direct every activity of the GSBM; (4) for increased volunteers to network and labor within the ministry; (5) for souls to be saved; and (6) for good health to carry out His work. May God richly bless you.

MISSIONARY TRAINING SCHOOL
March 20 - 25

This week is a wonderful time of training for missionaries. Some of the 47 classes are: The Holy Spirit, Burden and Call, Vision of Ministry, Deputation, Developing Word Pictures, and Budgeting. During several workshops, missionaries are taught how to avoid shooting themselves in the foot while they are on deputation. During the Presenting classes, each missionary is given the opportunity to present his ministry. Afterwards he is lovingly critiqued by the instructors.

Pastors are invited to come as guests to the Missionary Training School. They will have the opportunity to sit on the Foot Shooting panel and discuss openly what will cause them not to recommend a missionary couple for support. Pastors who have come as guests during one of the past eight schools often have said that the week changed their lives and ministries.

The excitement of the week for the children surrounds the 47 hours of class time, gym time, and craft time designed for the missionary kids. These sessions are held at the same time as the adult classes. for the first time the sessions are being led by the Chad Sellers family. Brother Sellers is the Assistant Pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Henderson, Tennessee. He and his wife Sandy have a great love for children as well as tremendous teaching skills. Using the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5, they will be dealing with the problems that Missionary kids face when they are on deputation with their families and when they are on the field. Everyone looks forward to the MK's program during the Awards service at the end of the week.

A NOTE FROM BROTHER BARNES
I want to thank every church and person who has been a part of GSBM. Only Jesus could have been in charge of a ministry like this. Thanks for all the glory and honor that goes only to Him. In His service for souls,
Dayton Barnes
